The Real Living Wage in Scottish Government Contracts
On Tuesday 14 October the Scottish Government announced that, wherever relevant and proportionate, companies bidding to win Scottish Government contracts will have to pay the real Living Wage in performance of the contract.
The Scottish Government will also be engaging more widely with the public sector to encourage other public bodies to also adopt this approach.
This allows public sector contracts to tackle in-work poverty and promote fair work practices across the public, private and third sector where there is a risk of low pay.
