About Border Engineering Training Association


Border Engineering Training Association (BETA) is an employer led organisation which, was founded in 1967 by ten local engineering companies interested in providing a training service in the Border's community. The initial involvement was that of skills training for craft and technician apprentices and the development of operator training in the fast growing electronic and printed circuit board manufactureing sectors.

The association, as a ENGINUITY (Formerly SEMTA) and EAL approved training authority which assesses and manages Modern Apprenticeships covering a range of engineering disciplines alined with the needs of the oganisations BETA serves.

All Vocational Qualification programmes range from SVQ level 2 through to, and higher than SVQ level 3 in Instrumentation, Maintenance and Manufacturing disciplines. BETA also carries out Training Needs Analaysis (TNAs) as required and provides bespoke programmes designed around the TNA reports.
