The Association regards the promotion and practice of equal opportunities and open access to training programmes as a mutual objective for management and employees at all levels, sub-contractors including placement and training providers participating in any Skillseekers programme.
It is therefore policy to do all that is reasonable to prevent discrimination on the grounds of race, colour, sex, marital status, disability or offender background.
In particular, the Association has a responsibility for its employees and through sub-contractors, by exchange of signed contracts, the sub-contractors have a responsibility for trainees participating in any Skillseekers programme to adhere to:
By observing good practice in regard to advertising vacancies, selecting and recruiting, and delivering training to trainees who have been admitted to any Skillseekers programme.
Employees and trainees have a duty to comply with this act by:
- Promoting and observing good practice in accordance with the act;
- Increasing awareness of the nature of discrimination;
- Avoiding behavior which may give rise to discrimination;
- Reporting the existence and nature of discrimination as observed.
